OPERATION & MAINTENANCE GUIDE

NOTICE OF GENERAL INFORMATION ONLY. This Operations and Maintenance Guide (“Guide”) is published by WorkOx and constitutes the Operation & Maintenance Guide referenced in the WorkOx Sales Agreement and the WorkOx Limited Warranty.

This Guide provides general operating and maintenance information for WorkOx vehicles. "Operator" means any person who operates, drives, or controls a WorkOx Vehicle, whether that person is the Buyer.

This Guide is not exhaustive, does not identify every possible hazard, defect, or maintenance need, and does not constitute professional, engineering, or safety certification.

This Guide is not a substitute for Operator's own inspection, judgment, and independent evaluation of safe operation and maintenance. WorkOx makes no representation that this Guide addresses all risks associated with the Vehicle(s).

1. VEHICLE OPERATIONAL SAFETY & MAINTENANCE

Operation of your WorkOx electric, three-wheel Vehicle(s) requires strict adherence to all operating instructions, safety warnings, and scheduled maintenance procedures including but not limited to those outlined in this Guide. Failure to provide proper attention, regular maintenance, or safe operation may result in property damage, injury, or death.

1.1 SAFE OPERATING SPEED

Operator AGREES to always operate the Vehicle(s) at reduced speed and shall NEVER exceed 10 mph / 16 kph especially when navigating areas where persons, animals, structures, equipment, or other obstacles may be present.

Operator further AGREES to reduce speed below 10 mph / 16 kph to maintain safe, controlled operation under all conditions that may present risk of collision, loss of control, or instability, which include but are not limited to uneven terrain, limited visibility, inclement weather and areas where persons are working, walking, gathered, or in proximity to the Vehicle(s).

Failure to operate the Vehicle(s) at a safe and appropriate speed may result in property damage, serious injury, or death to Operator or others.

1.2 TURNING SAFETY

To prevent lateral instability and risk of tipping, operator MUST significantly reduce speed to 5 mph / 8 kph or less prior to entering turns, curves, or when changing directions. Excessive speed during maneuvers can cause the Vehicle(s) to lift on two wheels and/or tip over.

1.3 DRIVING SAFETY & VEHICLE STABILITY

Operator MUST always keep both hands on the handlebars while driving the Vehicle(s) to maintain stability. Operating the Vehicle(s) at any speed without both hands on the handlebars can induce front-end oscillation, vibration, or uncontrollable wobbling, resulting in loss of control, damage, injury, or death.

1.4 BRAKE SYSTEM & TIRE INSPECTION

Prior to each use:

  • inspect brake cables, linkages, pedal function, and emergency brake to ensure proper operation

  • inspect tire pressure and tread condition to ensure safe operation

1.5 CARGO BED SECURING

Prior to Vehicle operation, ensure that the two latches beneath cargo bed are secured and all four cargo bed sidewall latches are properly fastened

Failure to secure these latches may result in shifting loads, Vehicle instability, or mechanical hazard.

1.6 REAR DIFFERENTIAL & WHEEL BEARINGS

At least one time per year (more often with heavy daily use or operating in harsh conditions), it is recommended to: (a) drain and replace the differential oil; (b) inspect and grease rear wheel bearings.

2. BATTERY SAFETY & MAINTENANCE

Your WorkOx Vehicle(s) are powered by durable, quality batteries. With attention to their maintenance, you can expect your batteries to have a long life. However, improper care can lead to personal injury or battery damage.

2.1 BATTERY BANK

Your Vehicle(s) comes standard with sealed lead acid batteries* and a 120V Smart Charger that operates on a standard US electrical outlet (*refer to Bill of Sale and/or Sales Order for specific battery bank of each Vehicle).

Operator SHALL use ONLY the WorkOx-supplied Smart Charger to charge the Vehicle(s) battery bank. USE OF ANY AFTERMARKET, THIRD-PARTY, OR NON-APPROVED BATTERY CHARGER IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED and may result in improper charge voltage or amperage, battery damage, reduced battery life, swelling, fire, explosion, property damage, serious injury, or death.

2.2 CHARGING SYSTEM RISKS

Your Smart Charger is built to optimize charging voltage and amperage to prevent overcharging, and to shut off once batteries achieve full charge (100%)

Since your Smart Charger may not operate properly due to but not limited to wear, negligence or improper use, always unplug charger from power source once batteries are fully charged (100%) to avoid overcharging batteries, which can lead to shortened lifespan, reduced capacity, swelling, and potential explosion.

2.3 MINIMUM CHARGE THRESHOLD

Do not operate your Vehicle(s) when lead acid battery bank charge drops below 50% because doing so can permanently reduce capacity and lead to premature failure. Consistently operating the Vehicle(s) charged above 50% significantly increases cycle life of batteries.

2.4 CHARGING PRACTICES & STORAGE

For optimal battery life, always recharge your lead acid batteries immediately after use to avoid sulfation, which reduces battery life and performance.

Never let your lead acid batteries sit at low charge:

•  Keep your batteries charged between 90% and 100% when not in use

•  During long periods of non-use or storage, check battery charge at least once monthly and recharge when necessary
